Why we chose Early Access (This week on MakerKing)

Last week we made the decision to go in Steam Early Access rather than having a regular Steam release. The main reason for this is that the game still needs a lot more polish before it can even be considered a "final product" and we don't have nearly enough players for the project to be lucrative yet. We are still in the "expand and improve" stage of development rather than trying to corner in a final release. Early Access won't change anything about the game, you will still be able to download it just fine, but it also means we get much more time to keep improving it and we can have another opportunity for a big marketing campaign advertising a "full release" later down the road.

Community

We see a lot of connected players in the game lately, some people are really having fun! Not everyone want to interact with everyone though and that's all ok. Those small groups of friends seem to have fun with one another and that's all that matters. The fact the game doesn't make it obvious enough how to lock levels is quite a problem still but we definitely will go over that more in depth in the next update.

Big thanks to all the translators hard at work! We now got the Steam page in Hungarian even, which is amazing. The brazil portuguese translation is coming along nicely as well.

Dev

This week we are starting to work seriously on the electric wiring system. The graphical aspect of things are under their way but if you are not sensitive to very ugly programmer art, here's a look of how it is so far:

It sure is more fun to play with than to look at, but the pressure plates and logic gates sure will multiply the possibilities of the level editor. Other than that the game is running quite well on Steam but we have yet to link accounts and rebuild the in-game purchases for Steam.
