After 4+ years of alpha development on itch.io, we are thrilled to announce MakerKing is now entering the big market with Steam!

If you haven't heard of MakerKing already, MakerKing is a platformer about level creation and sharing. With the fully integrated level editor, anyone can create levels in a couple of minutes and upload it onto our servers. All uploaded levels are playable online with others in real time. Players can also race one another in any level or climb leaderboards to earn scores and compete in the global rankings.

We sure think Steam will have a great impact in our community. More players mean more levels and more competitive speedruns. Itch.io is a great platform for game jams but when it comes to long-term high quality project, those get little to no attention from the community. It's normal after all, if you are itch.io user, you are probably used to very quick games and not willing to dive in into totally different universe of level creation. This is why most of our players are not from itch but from other sources of social media posts we made and we think Steam will be a great source of recurrent players that will contribute to the community.

Stay tuned for this update! It will still come out on itch.io as well and it will introduce the electrical components, key for puzzle creation!
