End of the level contest and translation now possible!

Community

This week we had the level contest on MakerKing. We got 7 amazing submissions with very unique and different types of levels. WebFreak got us a very hard yet creative kaizo level, Manmellon made us a big puzzle with multiple paths, Shade made a very dangerous carpet ride, Sif, Sheep and MrBroux made different forms of beat-the-mob type of levels and Izzy brought us a very relaxing umbrella glide. It really was a great week in term of new players as well, lots of new names are getting into the top 25, including Dynasty who despite having discovered the game this week already made it into the top 10! Other than that in term of rankings WebFreak got #1 by beating me on many many levels (except One Screen Level 3 >:) and Manmellon secured himself the 3rd place with a lead of more than 10k score over the 4th place.

Dev

This week we released the trailer (finally)! This means we can finally start our big marketing operation. We are just waiting on steam to approve our page though, as having the steam page ready will let us promote it to the press at the same time. (Lots of people seem to refuse to play anything on itch.io for some reason). Personally I've started the steam integration to the codebase and it doesn't seem too complicated too far! I've also fixed an annoying memory leak which made the game use much more RAM than necessary. Thanks to Shade and WebFreak for the help with that. I've gathered a lot of marketing emails as well (now 150/200 are collected!) Things are getting exciting and the moment of truth is coming. Will MakerKing become a project that is able to feed it's team? I sure will do anything in my power to make it into a something that is sustainable so we can keep making it better and better!

Translation

You can now contribute to MakerKing's translation with our Localizor page! This means it will get translated into more language and be accessible to more people. Our great man Sif is translating it into Romanian and very kind volunteers seem to be taking on the task of translating it into Russian and German at the moment. This is very encouraging and I'm looking forward to seeing MakerKing in more language!
